Microsoft 365 and Infrastructure Support Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft 365 and Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our technology team. The role involves managing and maintaining on-premises servers (MSSQL, Linux), cloud environments (AWS, Azure), and supporting ITSM operations to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure performance. The ideal candidate combines strong system administration and infrastructure expertise with a problem-solving, service-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
ITSM & Operations
- Manage incident, problem, change, and request workflows using Jira Service Management.
- Implement ITSM best practices aligned with the ITIL framework to improve operational efficiency and SLA adherence.
- Act as a bridge between IT operations and support teams to ensure consistent service delivery and root cause analysis.
- Generate service reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support operational reviews and audits.
- Support onboarding of new services and infrastructure into the ITSM ecosystem, including CMDB updates and documentation.
Infrastructure (On-prem / Cloud)
- Monitor, configure, and maintain on-premises Microsoft SQL and Linux servers.
- Perform server creation, patch management, backups, and performance tuning.
- Manage VMware environments, networking, and data center operations.
- Ensure system availability, disaster recovery readiness, and security compliance.
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and identity management.
- Handle basic AWS and Azure instances related to application hosting and database operations.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure Lead on scalability, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to streamline software delivery and environment consistency.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment via scripts.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and logging tools.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Prior experience working in a structured ITSM environment or with ITIL practices.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Service Management or similar ITSM tools.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on with Linux, Windows Server, MS SQL, and VMware.
- Experience supporting and managing Microsoft 365 environments (including Active Directory).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and Git version control.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Familiar with containerization and orchestration.
